America's most important conservation and recreation program, which has saved places in every state and nearly every county in the U.S., was permanently reauthorized on March 12, 2019.

We have won the fight for authorization of LWCF, but the program’s funding is still being raided every year. Our fight continues for full dedicated funding.

In order to build momentum towards finding a long-term solution for authorization and funding, the LWCF Coalition launched a year-long awareness initiative counting down to the September 2018 expiration of our most important conservation and recreation program. Thanks to its many congressional champions on both sides of the aisle, LWCF is now permanently authorized through overwhelming votes of 363-62 in the House and 92-8 in the Senate!

Over the year leading up to expiration, each week a state or U.S. territory was highlighted showcasing LWCF success stories from the federal, state, and local level, and opportunities that are on the horizon for LWCF to improve recreational access and conservation across America, and places that could be lost forever if Congress did not act to reauthorize LWCF.
